2026 Baffinland Student Scholarship Program: Applications Now Open
Oakville, Ontario | January 8, 2026 – Baffinland Iron Mines (Baffinland) is now accepting applications for its 2026 Student Scholarship Program. The five, $5,000 scholarships are awarded annually to Inuit students enrolled under the Nunavut Agreement and pursuing a post-secondary education.
Baffinland remains committed to investing in Inuit education and skills development in the Baffin communities. It supports and encourages the pursuit of post-secondary education that helps build long-term career growth and success. Baffinland recognizes the importance of learning and development as pillars to the ongoing development of the Baffin communities and all of Nunavut.
For 2026, five scholarships, in the amount of $5,000 each, will be awarded to the top five applicants, with priority given to the following educational areas:
- Marine and Environmental Studies
- Geology and Engineering
- Health and Wellness
- Education and Management Studies
- Business Administration
Eligibility/Criteria
Open to Nunavut Inuit enrolled under the Nunavut Agreement. Priority will be given in the following order:
- Inuit applicants from Arctic Bay, Clyde River, Igloolik, Pond Inlet and Sanirajak
- Inuit from the Qikiqtani region
- Inuit from the rest of Nunavut
