QIA and Baffinland are looking for candidates for Q-STEP’s Heavy Equipment Operator Training in Morrisburg, Ontario

Want to be a heavy equipment operator but don’t have the training? Baffinland in partnership with the Qikiqtani Inuit Association (QIA) and Kakivak Association, is looking for 12 candidates for a free, three-month training program for Inuit interested in a career as a heavy equipment operator. The program will start on June 25, 2018 and end on August 3, 2018.
QIA is committed to working with Baffinland to increase Inuit employment at the Mary River Mine through skills development programs that provide Inuit the tools they need to work in mining.
The Heavy Equipment Operator (HEO) training program is offered through the Qikiqtani Skills and Training for Employment Partnership.
Application Deadline is April 30, 2018.

Apply through either your local Baffinland Community Liaison Officer or QIA Community Liaison Officer. They will assist you in completing the program application.
