Baffinland is proud to announce it has partnered with the Qikiqtani Inuit Association (QIA), the Government of Canada, the Government of Nunavut, and Kakivak, to launch the QIA-led Qikiqtani Skills and Training for Employment Partnership (Q-STEP) Project.

One of the main objectives of the Q-STEP Project is to increase Inuit employment at the Mary River Mine. The 19-million-dollar project will focus on equipping Inuit with the skills and training they need for a career in mining. This includes Work Readiness training, heavy equipment training, a new apprenticeship program, and more.
